Designing content that is accessible is crucial to reaching as many learners as possible. Whether a learner has a visual disability or is in a noisy environment, taking steps to accommodate different learners advances learning capacity for everyone.
In this short lunch session, you'll learn about the medical and social models of disability and gain practical tips for applying accessible practices in the design of graphics, PDFs, videos, and more. You'll be introduced to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and its recommendations and ramifications for accessibility in digital content.

Jessica Ellison is new to the talent development industry but has hit the ground running as a Learning Experience Designer at Bohannan Huston, an engineering consulting firm based in Albuquerque. At Bohannan Huston, Jessica Ellison crafts educational material by combining graphic design, instructional design, audio/visual technology, and motion graphics to enhance employee knowledge on a range of subjects from technical training to compliance and safety.
She has a particular interest in accessible learning and is a member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).
